My Story:

I was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. I have done (BA.MCJ) Mass Communication & Journalism (Diploma & Degree), Also, Did Photography from J.J.School of Applied Arts.

I got inspiration to work as a social worker when I was in school. one incident changed my life forever. One day I came to know that my favorite teacher was hospitalized due to amputation surgery. I used to visit the hospital just to watch him, I took care of him until he felt good. Shri Narayanrao Bhide, a friend of my grandfather, visited our house one day. My grandmother informed them about my assistance to my school's teacher. The Nana Palkar Smriti Samiti was the next place they took me. There I officially started my social service journey by becoming a ‘Rugna Sevak’. We took Souvenir drive to raise funds for our Rugna Seva Sadan of Nana Palkar Smriti samiti. In the blood donation camp, we used collect around 45-50 bottles.

Since I was passionate about becoming a social worker from childhood, I enjoy helping others and interacting with people, even when it's hard to do. I believe social work has always been my passion and I feel that working with people is what I am good at & that's the reason I worked with many social service agencies. Since I was passionate about social work, I worked with many social working NGO's, I did volunteer work with Disha Sanstha, a wing of the social service league for many years. Later I also did volunteer work at Sanskar Bharti.

The External Fixator, An external fixator is a metal frame that holds bones in place. It has small rods (called pins) that go through the skin and into the bone. The external fixator used for limb lengthening has adjustable bars (called struts) that are turned to slowly lengthen the bone. There were many needy people who met with an accident and were looking to use medical equipment such as Urine Pots, Air bed, Water Bed, Walking Stick, Walkers, Commode Chair, Wheel Chair, Crutches, etc. We started giving these equipment to needy people on a refundable deposit & lease rental fee. This was a critical need in our society for the benefit of those medically affected. This activity is also run purely on the basis of generous support and contributions from the society and I'm thankful to the numerous donors who have made this effort possible.

Working with other NGOs can be a very rewarding experience. It provides an opportunity to make a positive impact on society and help those in need. My "Satyarthy Foundation" also provided a sense of fulfillment and purpose by contributing towards a greater cause.

After forming Satyarthy Foundation, I met Mrs.Varsha sonawane (MSW) from Indian Cancer Society, she briefed me about her Indian Cancer Society regarding how they help cancer patients. It's also interesting to know that the organization was established in 1951 at the initiative of Naval Tata. The work of the Indian Cancer Society is truly inspiring and it's wonderful to see my "Satyarthy Foundation" supporting their cause. Mrs.Varsha sonawane (MSW) explained to me how they help cancer patients in terms of providing daily wages to needy people, such as providing training and jobs for file making, printing work, leather work such as purse making, etc. Since most of the patients are needy and poor,  this kind of support can go a long way in providing daily needs of cancer patients to those who are struggling. This really makes a difference in the lives of citizens of India across the country. So based on that "Satyarthy Foundation" has also started providing grains, food related items, etc. to those 80-100 needy people.

Since it's important to provide holistic support to young cancer patients and this kind of support can make a big difference in their lives, "Satyarthy Foundation" started providing fruits and flavored milk to children from the St. Jude cancer foundation. It's inspiring to hear about the work of St. Jude cancer foundation and how they provide holistic support to young cancer patients across India through their 38 childcare centers.

Despite working with many social service agencies, I wasn't satisfied with my work because at every agency I found some limitations which did not allow me to make a desired impact. This was the main reason I freed myself from limitations & finally decided to give it some name and formed the Satyarthy Foundation in 1999 which believes that truth is powerful and it prevails. I focused on helping children from marginalized communities with high quality, value based education; enabling development of their limitless potential. , medical patients, and food to bring about better outcomes specifically for economically challenged patients.

It's been 24 years since we run Satyarthy Foundation, and it is really helping Innumerable people who are deprived of basic essentials like food, education, healthcare, safety, shelter, etc.
